From today, surf the web wirelessly with your Nintendo DS or DS Lite
Nintendo DS now takes another giant leap for handheld kind - onto the World Wide Web - with the release of the Nintendo DS Browser.
The Nintendo DS Browser - in shops now, priced at around £30* (€40) - gives you wireless access to the internet through your Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite, and features easy touch screen control to make browsing a breeze.
Use the stylus to navigate pages just like with a mouse, enter text easily using the on-screen keyboard or handwriting recognition, and choose from a number of viewing modes to make the most of those dual screens.
With the Nintendo DS Browser you can access the Web from wherever there is a wireless internet connection - be it at home, in your local internet café, or at a Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection hotspot (visit www.nintendowifi.co.uk to find one near you).
The Nintendo DS Browser software comes on a regular DS Game Card and also includes a Memory Expansion Pak that slots into the GBA cartridge port and gives the DS the extra boost of RAM the browser requires. There are two versions of the Nintendo DS Browser available: each with a different size of Expansion Pak: one for Nintendo DS and another suitable only for the slimmer Nintendo DS Lite.
The Nintendo DS Browser is based on the increasingly popular Opera web browser software used in PCs and mobile devices. Opera has also been chosen to provide the web browser software for Nintendo's upcoming Wii home console, coming December 8.
